How has the Kansas Association for Youth (KAY) impacted Angel?

“KAY has impacted my life in many ways. First, as a student, it affirmed my value and my belief in leadership and service. It taught me that I have value, I can be a leader, and I can make a meaningful difference in my school, community, nation, and world. Through KAY and my experience at KAY Leadership Camp, I have built relationships that have truly lasted a lifetime and memories that I will forever cherish.

“KAY has also impacted my career and the way I lead today. I ended up pursuing a career path that allowed me to put my KAY values into action and continue giving back to my community. As a supervisor and leader in other organizations, not a day goes by that I don't reflect on the lessons of KAY: ‘work made fun gets done,’ ‘as you go, so goes your club,’ a ‘get to’ attitude, and so much more. Whenever I start to feel down or unmotivated, I can always draw on the lessons and relationships from KAY to remind me of why I do what I do.”
