To UTILIZE personal resources and talents of those who support the KAY program to develop a strong legacy for the program.
Establish a professional network of former KAY members in order to provide networking opportunities for recent high school and college graduates, in addition to those considering new careers.
Establish a mentor program for new alumni based on career or other interests.
Establish a “speaker’s bureau” of KAY alumni who are available to speak to KAY programs at various schools and conduct leadership training, assist with board development, or membership recruitment and retention.
Form special advisory committees of alumni who can advise the KAY State Director on various facets of the KAY program.
To MAINTAIN the pride, spirit, and fellowship of the KAY organization.
Host yearly/quarterly alumni gatherings to celebrate the KAY organization.
Establish an award system to recognize KAY alumni who go above and beyond in their service to the organization.
Coordinate state-wide activities in celebration of KAY Citizenship Week.
To PROMOTE future growth of the organization of the KAY Organization.
Assist in the establishment of new KAY clubs at high schools and middle schools throughout the state of Kansas.
To work with the KAY State Director to establish an early-warning system to identify clubs that may be struggling and are in need of extra support.
Assist schools selected to host KAY Regional Conferences (i.e. providing seed money for reserving space if a school is not available to host).
Provide training opportunities for new KAY sponsors, KAY Area Presidents, and KAY Board Members at schools across the state.
Provide seed money to schools to perform community service projects or take advantage of further leadership training opportunities.
Utilize KAY alumni, particularly those that serve on the staff of KAY Leadership Camp (KLC), to promote attending KLC.

About KAY
The Kansas Association for Youth was founded by Wanda May Vinson in 1946. High school students in Miss Vinson’s Civics class wrote the pledge, motto, slogan, objectives, and privileges. These ideals still hold true today.
